Tropical Storm Andrea

Tropical Storm Andrea made landfall on Florida's east coast on June 6th, 2013.  It was strong enough to get things ripping around here, too.  Never one to cower in the face of nature, a trip to the beach to see the surfers take advantage of the waves was imperative.

Everyone enjoys the beach.

There were several of these guys with their fancy metal detectors out.  I should have asked one of them what they hoped to find from the roiling surf, but chickened out.  I hate it when that happens.

Equally impressive is the noise.  The pounding of water all around is almost deafening.

A couple was busy making a sand castle in between surfing.

Foam accumulating on the beach from the constant churning of water.

A band of surfers taking a break from their sport.

Andrea is history now, and as the hurricane season is upon us, with predictions of much activity, so far nothing has developed.  The surfers and perhaps this little guy would like a system or two to find this beach, but quiet is nice, too.

This is a video made by my new nice camera.  As a video maker, it takes great snapshots.  That's why when a video is necessary I'll take it with either my old Panasonic or iPhone.
