Why, two bald eagles, of course.
I made the discovery as I was returning from the bay on my bicycle. I saw the giant nest and today there was I presume, mama and papa. I haven't seen any activity in the nest, but these two regal birds have taken residence at the Palm Royal cemetery. As noted earlier in the week on this blog, these Bald Eagles are residents of St. Pete. Going back and forth on the path as I do on a regular basis I check on my new pals quite often. They are no longer a secret as many stop by now to see them and take pics. It will be fun in the Spring to see if they have any babies. I'll let you know. And it explains why that bird I saw first just sat in that branch for almost an hour. It was his home, or at least pretty darn close. The nest is huge, the birds beautiful and regal, and they have a pretty sweet set-up here in the cemetery. And, as always, click on the picture to enlarge it.
