Ran across this short video a few days ago and, frankly, find it something I think we should all do whether or not you support Occupy Wall Street or not. I average get quite a few junk solicitations from the big banks weekly, with Chase sending credit card applications at least weekly. I'm going to do this starting today. Am I a supporter of OWS? I'm not sure since they have no demands and seem to be railing against a disparate number of causes. It's not like the Civil Rights movements or the Anti-Vietnam war protests. They were somewhat singular in scope so support, or lack of, was a black-and-white thing. With OWS the protesters are united, I suppose, in the unfairness of the economic system. In that regard I support them: I believe that big money supports big banks and they in turn keep feeding the big network. Recent polls indicate most Americans support OWS. The polls also indicate most Americans are pessimistic about their lives and the futures of their children. The too-big-to-fail banks who may have been the folks who ruined the global economy and the American Dream deserve no sympathy. They take our money, then keep it to pay themselves unbelievable bonuses, foreclose on our homes, then want to charge us to withdraw money from our accounts Yeah, I guess I'm a supporter.
However. I have a roof over my head, food in the pantry and a buck or two in my billfold. I have it pretty good compared to many unfortunate souls. Whether you support the OWS or define them as loser hippies with stupid grievances, we can surely agree on present financial difficulties many are experiencing. What are we doing as individuals to help the unfortunate? Like my friend Jeff, who lives somewhere off the map in rural Illinois, advocates through word and deed, "Pay It Forward".

Great Idea! I will be using these envelopes in creative ways! Great post Mike!
