One of my neighbors told me yesterday that he and his friend were discussing my Blue Star flag last week. He is a Marine so he was aware that it was developed during World War II to show support for your soldier. One star says you have one person in your family serving, and two stars meant two people. It has been re-introduced to show support for our servicemen in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Well, evidently his daughter overheard "some" of the conversation and with righteous indignation said, "Well, doesn't he know we live in America?" My neighbor said best he could figure out, his daughter thought it was a national flag for some Arab country.
