This is Willie putting the new "trouble-free" steel oil gear in the bike during Memorial Day weekend, replacing a plastic gear.
Found out the bike (Kawasaki Vulcan Classic), which started sounding weird last Saturday, is in serious trouble. The clutch cover was taken off and they found debris, which probably means the new steel oil gear was defective, or the mechanic put it in wrong. It is going back to the guy who put it in and looks like we are in for an expensive fix and long summer down time. At least the labor will be cheap and Willie is conscientious. He is also meeting me halfway, which will be Litchfield. Friday is the proposed meet time at around 8:00 pm.
It was all so unnecessary. This is one of those foul things that happen in life that you don't inflict on yourself, it just happens.
