We had a heck of a time figuring out what this little orange fellow was. It is all over some scrub bushes along a coastal area and I picked one to bring it back and do a little research. It was orange and had spines and no particular smell. After doing a dissection we saw it has bright red,wet seeds inside the pod. Mackenzie discovered it to be a Balsam Apple and can be toxic if you eat too much. The Europeans use it for medicinal skin remedies. By the way, that penny above showing scale was laying on a window sill downtown I picked up. Can't believe this place for coinage found in parking lots and sidewalks.
We went to the Conch Republic for supper and sitting in the next booth was a Saddam Hussein look alike.
OK, I understand the cross on churches, or the cresent on mosques, or the Star of David on Temples. This church, the New Jerusalem Mt. Zion Holiness Church of God In Christ By Faith of North Central Florida, Inc., has an elephant doing tricks on a couple barrels on their front. Would someone like to explain that to me?
