As mentioned earlier Shawshank is right next to Clam Bayou. There is a rejuvenation project going on, already in its third year. New water routes are being dredged and new plants along the beach areas.
There is this tree that seems to have an old nest in it that had some type of big bird in it. I don't know who lives there, but all over every length of every branch one evening were small birds. There were two eagles/hawks/or ospreys resting nearby. I have no idea what is going on there, but it certainly was eerie.
One of two big birds just watching.
I wonder what type of species satisfaction is going on here? Do the small birds wait for big bird prey leftovers?
Or is it just dwindling wild areas, so we 're "all in this together" sort of thing.
I always think of Hitchcock when I see organized groupings of birds.
Who lives in the nest? Is it abandoned or used by which group?
Naturally I'll not find out unless we have an ornithologist among the readers of BFE. Anyone want to pretend to be an expert and offer a guess to all or one of these questions? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
