The folks didn't know they were having twins so they were a wee bit unprepared. They came up with first names OK but it was too much to come up with middle names so Mark was G and I was D. I have no idea the significance but family lore has it that they were derivative from our respective grandfathers. I don't buy it though, because our gramps were Verne and Leonard. How do you get G and D from that?
We were dangerously early and spent some time to ripen at the hopsital. I'm thinking 2 or 3 months preemie.
Wombies.
Held by Mona, our mother's Mom. Classy lady but passed away when we were only 11, and they lived in Quincy which might as well have been in Oregon.
This is Leonard, or Dick as he was called. Nice guy and funny.
Brother Phil probably not enjoying the attention directed to the twins, but putting on a good front for the camera.
Mark and I back home in Seaton after a long hospital stay.
Verne, or VG, our Dad's dad.
Couldn't have asked for a better family or childhood. It was magic.
