As one might expect, the star of Thanksgiving day wasn't me. All my wisdom to dispel, all my humor, knowledge and thirst for fun, cast aside by the fam in favor of a 6 month smiling soon-to-grow-out-of-blob-stage baby. So this is how it starts (or ends), the old person tucked away in the corner, whilst the admiring Norah-groupies fawn and coo.
Say "cheese".
Proud mama.
Norah in her holiday dress.
Parents and Norah posing for her first Thanksgiving.
Ignored old guy moving in on wee little one.
Norah is flapping her right hand so fast the camera couldn't focus on her very well. Just take my word for it, she is about the cutest kid ever born.
All told it was a great day. Besides the mounds of food, the three vats of homemade ice cream, the pumpkin pies and ham, not to mention football, we did devote ourselves to individual reflection on things we are thankful for. Brendan and Rachel were called away to spend the day with her kin, so we missed them. Like most years and folks, we experienced the usual highs and lows. We all remained healthy and so far, anyway, all remain in the same city. I don't know how long that will last but it is comforting. And, of course, we welcomed Norah Grace into the family this year, and after that what more could anyone want?
