Today let's take a walk through Boyd Hill nature preserve. Yes, I have dragged you here before, but you always find new things to amaze.
Looking at this Google Earth picture you can see Boyd Hill Nature Preserve is the large green area straddling Lake Maggiore to the left. Now move over to the upper left and you will see 2 yellow stickpins. I live at Shawshank which is at the lower stickpin of the two. To the left of Shawshank is Clam Bayou. I can take a 6 minute drive to Boyd or a 5 minute walk to the back gate for Clam Bayou and be in a nature preserve.
Boyd Hill has gators, as does Sawgrass, but I've never seen one at the Clam, although there are signs warning of them.
For the most part this will be self-guided. I'll be here with you but I am keeping still, and just letting you see the sights without commentary. I don't want to scare off the gators. If there is something I need to say, I will, otherwise, just enjoy the sights.
I liked this early morning condensation of the leaf. Someone who knew what they were doing could have made a series of dazzling shots with the camera, but, alas, sadly, it were me doin' the snappin'.
Old fungi growths.
Spanish moss never hurts the host tree, so they say.
Apparently this is called an apple snail.
That's the Trop clear over there in the distance.
Join us back here tomorrow for more.
