The Pinellas Trail
This 40-mile city wide path for bikers, hikers, joggers and walkers is a treasure. Formed from an old railroad bed, this path can take you from Tropicana Field all the way up to Clearwater. It's kind of neat because once you are on the Trail you either go under intersections, over via bridges or you can push a button to actually stop traffic. Many cars will stop when they see you anyway. Bikers definitely get preferential treatment on the Trail. The city even patrols regularly on golf carts picking up trash and checking things out. My favorite ride is going downtown (about a 7 1/2 mile trip one-way) and it goes through some questionable areas, but I've never had a problem.
There are businesses all along the path. Here there is a boat that is becoming covered in a vine plant. This is the rear of the boat with the plant taking over the rear right side.
Long stretches good for riding or just walking.
A couple of old cars I mentioned earlier. The one exposed to the elements appears to be a Ford or Mercury. Who knows about the other one.
This path goes right by the Tyrone Square Mall. Kind of a neat security shack. I wonder if this is the type that killed that kid videotaping the Notre Dame football team two weeks ago?
This town is a bike rider, jogger and pet paradise. All are welcome at the parks, a couple beaches, and the bike path. Here is a person and pet water fountain at a park that sits next to the path heading up toward Clearwater. After a strenuous bike ride all the way up to Ulmerton I was tempted to lay next to this fountain and use the doggie one. I get sore places I didn't think I had - bike seats are waaaaaaaaay to narrow. There are many recumbent bikes and if I was serious about riding that's the kind I'd get. Bikes are built so that all your weight sits on the bike seat area. How do ya build callouses there?

Hmm. Now what do I want? A white, black, yellow or red boat. How about one of each?
These shrubs are in about 6-8 inches of water here.
